Handling of Personal Information

Logic & Design may collect Personal Information as part of our business operations.
We have established the following Privacy Policy to ensure appropriate handling and protection of this information appropriately and in compliance with laws, regulations, and internal rules.

Privacy Policy

Logic and Design Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) handles Personal Information (“Personal Information” as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information; hereinafter the same definition applies) collected by the Company for the LISr-CIS (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”), etc. as follows.

Article 1 (General provisions)

(1) In order to protect User Information, etc., the Company complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of May 30, 2003) (hereinafter referred to as “the Personal Information Protection Law”) and other related laws and regulations, and is committed to handling and protecting User Information, etc., including Personal Information, in an appropriate manner.
(2) This Policy applies to the use of the Service. Additionally, in such cases that the Company stipulates the handling of User Information, etc. in its Privacy Policy or other personal information protection policies posted on the website operated by the Company, or in the terms of use, etc. for the Service, such stipulations will also apply, and if such stipulations conflict with this Policy, this Policy will take precedence.

Article 2 (Information acquired by the Company and acquisition methods)

1. The Company acquires Personal Information in the Service as follows.

  1. (1) Information regarding applicants and registered users
    A. Information regarding persons wishing to register and registered users
    The Company acquires the name, email address, telephone number, department (in the case of corporations or organizations), information about the organization to which the person wishing to register or registered user (including relevant personnel when the registered user is a corporation) (hereinafter referred to as “the User”) belongs, and other information (hereinafter referred to as “User Information”) stipulated by the Company.
  2. B. Device information, etc.
    In the event that a User uses the Service on a device or mobile device, the Company may collect device information (such as ID information that can identify the device) from the device used by the User in order to maintain and improve the Service or to prevent fraud. In addition, the Company may collect IP addresses automatically generated and stored when using the Service, the date and time of requests by Users, information on the history of operations within the Service, and information on the User’s Service usage status (hereinafter referred to as “Log Information”).
  3. C. Cookies and anonymous IDs
    The Service may use cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are an industry-standard technology and allow a web server to identify a User’s browser. Although cookies can identify a User’s browser, it cannot identify User Information. Furthermore, cookies can be disabled by changing the settings of an electronic device, however this may affect the ability to use all or part of the Service.
  4. (2) Transmission data
    The Company collects data sent by Users of the Service (including, but not limited to, image data, device location information, search history, and other User postings to the Service) (hereinafter referred to as “Transmission Data”).

2. The Company acquires Personal Information in a legitimate manner, without using deceitful or improper methods, and mandates that the Personal Information be collected in a lawful manner based on the contract between the Company and the registered user before acquiring it. In addition, in the case that the Company acquires Personal Information by any means other than through the use of the Service by registered users, the Company shall notify or publicly announce the purpose of its use in advance.

Article 3 (Purpose of use)

1. The Company handles Personal Information acquired through the use of the Service in a legitimate manner within the scope of the following purposes. The Company will not use Personal Information beyond the scope of the purpose of use without the consent of the User.

2. The Company may change the purpose of use in the preceding paragraph to an extent that it is reasonably deemed to be related to the purpose of use before the change. In the event of a change, the Company must announce the change to the User by way of a notification, a post on the Service or on the website operated by the Company, or by other easily comprehensible means.

Article 4 (Third party provision)

1. In principle, the Company does not provide Personal Data (“Personal Data” as defined in Article 16, Paragraph 3 of the Personal Information Protection Law; hereinafter the same definition applies) to third parties without the consent of the individual concerned (excluding entrusted parties as set forth in the following Article. The same shall apply hereinafter). However, Personal Data may be provided without the consent of the individual concerned in the following cases.

  • (1) When required by laws and regulations
  • (2) Cases in which there is a need to protect the life, wellbeing, or property of an individual, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual concerned
  • (3) Cases in which there is a special need to improve public wellbeing or promote healthy child development, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual concerned
  • (4) Cases in which there is a need to cooperate with a national government organization, local government, or person working on behalf of such bodies with performing functions prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual concerned is likely to interfere with the performance of those functions
  • (5) Disclosing information to financial institutions, credit card companies, settlement agents, or other businesses that settle or act as settlement agents for the purpose of settling fees or other amounts owed to the Company
  • (6) Cases in which a merger, corporate separation, transfer of business, or other such event results in the succession of a business that contains the Personal Information of the User

2. In the event that the Company provides Personal Data to a third party based on the permission of the User, a record of the following matters is made and stored.

  • (1) The consent obtained in advance from the User
  • (2) The name of the third party or other matters sufficient for identifying the third party
  • (3) The name of the person identified by the Personal Data and other information sufficient to identify that person
  • (4) Details of the Personal Data

Article 5 (Outsourcing of handling of personal information)

The Company may entrust a third party with all or part of the handling of Personal Information acquired from the User within the scope necessary for achieving the purpose of use. In such cases, the Company enters into a nondisclosure agreement, etc. with the entrusted party that conforms to this Policy in advance and provides necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure that the entrusted party appropriately manages the information in a secure manner.

Article 6 (Measures for managing security)

The Company takes the following measures for protecting and managing the security of User Information, etc. including preventing the leaking, loss or damage of User Information, etc.

  • (1) Establishment of a basic policy for the proper handling of Personal Information in accordance with laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • (2) Establishment of regulations defining measures, responsible personnel, and roles relating to acquisition, use, storage, provision, deletion, disposal, etc.
  • (3) Systematic safety control measures, such as designating the representative director as the person responsible for management of User Information, etc., clarifying employees who handle Personal Data and the scope of Personal Information handled, establishing a system for reporting to the person responsible in the event that an actual or potential violation of laws and regulations is detected, and conducting periodic inspections regarding the status of information handling, etc.
  • (4) Human safety control measures, such as recording matters regarding the confidentiality of Personal Information in work rules and conducting periodic training on points of concern relating to the handling of Personal Data, etc.
  • (5) Physical safety control measures, such as implementing access restrictions to Personal Information files, limiting the number of authorized access holders to the minimum necessary, and restricting and managing equipment, electronic media, and documents handling personal information to prevent theft or loss of such information.
  • (6) Technological safety control measures, such as introducing security software to prevent unauthorized external access, etc.

Article 7 (Requests for disclosure, etc. of Personal Data from Users)

In the case that the Company receives a request for disclosure, etc. of Personal Data that the Company has acquired (notification of purpose of use; disclosure; correction, addition, or deletion of content; cessation of use or deletion; cessation of provision to third parties; disclosure of records of provision to third parties), the Company shall respond without delay from the point of contact specified in Article 9. However, the Company may not be able to perform these procedures if it is not obligated to do so under the Personal Information Protection Law; or other laws and regulations, if the same request is repeated multiple times without justifiable reason, or if excessive technical work is required.

Article 8 (Revisions to this Policy)

1. The Company reviews the operational status of the handling of User Information, etc., as required to achieve continuous improvement, and may revise this Policy if necessary.
2. The revised Policy is posted on the Service or on the website operated by Company, or by other easily comprehensible means. However, when making revisions to the content of the Service that would require the consent of the Users under laws and regulations, the Company shall obtain the consent of the Users in a separately determined manner.
